Common questions
The longer answers.
The short versions live on the front page. These are the ones people email about.
How do I get my transactions in?
Export a CSV or PDF statement from your bank's website or app, then import it in Trove. The file is read on your phone. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Which banks work with PDF import?
Statements from Chase, American Express, Capital One, Discover, and Wells Fargo import today, with more banks on the way. A PDF only imports when every transaction reconciles to the statement's printed totals, to the penny. CSV works for nearly every bank.
Does Trove connect to my bank?
No. Trove never asks for a bank login. You bring your own statements, and they stay on your device.
Where does my data live?
In a local database on your phone. No accounts, no cloud, no analytics. On Android, the app ships without the internet permission at all. The privacy policy has the full detail.
How do I move to a new phone?
In Settings, export a copy of your data. That gives you one file to move yourself. Import it on the new phone. Importing replaces what is already on that device.
I reinstalled. How do I get Full Trove back?
Purchases are tied to your App Store or Google Play account. Use the restore option on the Full Trove screen. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google Play directly.
How do I delete my data?
Use Clear all data in Settings, or delete the app. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so that's the whole job.
Found a bug?
Email what happened, what you expected, and your phone model. Screenshots help. Every report gets read.
