Nothing leaves your phone.

Trove keeps your financial data on your device. No accounts, no servers, no tracking. We cannot see your data, because it never leaves your phone.

What we collect

Nothing. Trove has no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal or financial information. There is no account to create and no server to sync to. Trove's App Store and Google Play listings declare "No data collected," and this policy is the reason that is true.

Where your data lives

Everything you add to Trove (transactions, balances, categories, goals, scenarios, and settings) is stored locally on your device in an on-device database. It stays there. You can confirm this by turning on airplane mode: Trove works fully offline, because there is nowhere for your data to go.

Importing statements

When you import a CSV or PDF statement, Trove reads the file on your device and never uploads it. Trove does not connect to your bank and does not use any bank-linking service. The files you import, and everything Trove reads from them, stay on your phone.

Payments

If you buy Full Trove, the purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play using their own in-app purchase systems. We never see your card details, and there is no receipt server or middleman in between. Your Full Trove entitlement is stored locally on your device. Restoring a purchase asks the store, not us, because we hold nothing about you.

App lock

You can protect Trove with your device PIN and biometrics. This is checked on your device only. No PIN, passcode, or biometric data ever leaves your phone or reaches us.

Analytics and tracking

None. The Trove app has no analytics and no advertising identifiers, and takes part in no cross-app tracking. This website loads no third-party scripts, no external fonts, and no trackers. Nothing you do here is logged, profiled, or shared.

Third parties

Trove does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect data to share. The only outside systems it touches are the App Store and Google Play, and only to complete or restore a purchase you chose to make.

Your control

Your data is yours. You can export all of it to a single file at any time, and restore it whenever you like. You can erase everything instantly with Clear all data in Settings, and uninstalling Trove removes the on-device database from your phone for good.

Children

Trove is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update the date at the top. Because Trove collects nothing, meaningful changes should be rare.
